Hamsa Healing Center

ABOUT

Location:

Puccalpa, Peru

Project Year:

2017

Programme:

Welcome centre, restaurant, maloka and 8 Tambos

Team:

Tiago Vieira de Sousa

Deep in the Amazon basin, the Hamsa Healing Center was designed and built as a complete sanctuary for holistic restoration, a welcome centre, restaurant, maloka, and eight tambos, each positioned and proportioned to serve the journey of healing that guests undertake.

Sacred geometry guided the layout of the entire complex, creating a spatial sequence that moves the visitor from arrival through progressively deeper states of stillness and inwardness.

The maloka, at the heart of the complex, is the ceremonial centre, a space designed to hold intense collective experience with safety and grace.

Natural materials throughout, timber, bamboo, earth, chosen for their energetic coherence with the healing intention of the place.
